Smirking like the brick layer
Building lords castles out of
Stone

Dawn does do the Night
Like the forlorn apostles
Suckling the teat
Of their dead Matriarch
Smile!
Like the messengers
Burning effigies
Of their favorite martyr
And laugh: LAUGH?
As the Martyr
Grinning more wildly
Then the flames at his feet

Turn over, Empty Night
Shut those heavy eyes
Throw your glance east
